Gallina Canyon Wilderness Rentals

RANCH CASITA

This rustic Casita resides deep within the heart of the Chama Wilderness (the only privately-owned property in the area). Ranch Casita is located on the site of an early 400 acre 1900s homestead, and is one of three vacation rentals we have in the canyon.

The rental includes a large bedroom, queen size bed, fully equipped kitchen and dining area, living room with queen sofa bed, bath room, spacious deck with lounge chairs, barbecue, dining table, and chairs. A lighted path leads from Ranch Casita to your private Sleeping Deck: it contains two full beds, pillows, chairs, and a 200-degree view of the canyon.

Hot and cold running water from a pure potable fresh-water spring.
A bathroom, shower, and toilet.
A picturesque kitchen and dining area.
Two burner propane stove.
Cooking and dining utensils.
A sunny, comfortable living room.
A medium-sized refrigerator and freezer.
Please remove your shoes before entering Casita, you may wish to bring slippers. We also suggest that you bring head lamps if you want to read at night
You are welcome to bring a swim suit, picnic lunch, and spend the day relaxing at the community pond. We provide beach towels.
Prior to your arrival you will wish to shop for all of your food, drink, and snacks for your entire stay. The nearest store is 35 miles away.
Four-wheel drive vehicles are not necessary; low clearance vehicles are not recommended (i.e., Mini Cooper).
Please leave all gates as you find them.
Radios and cellular telephones do not work in the canyon.

Casita is close to the Rio Chama: there you will find chairs to use in the river. We are located near the confluence of Rio Chama and Rio Gallina, in the remote Chama Wilderness of Northern New Mexico.

When you arrive, we require a signed waiver from each person.
Do not use inside stove for frying food; use outside stove.
Fires and smoking are prohibited in the canyon due to the extreme fire risk.
Loving your pets means visiting here without them; we do not allow pets at Ranch Casita. Pets are welcome at Anasazi Cabin and Remote Casita.
No hunting.
Check-in time is from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Check-out time is 11 AM.
There will be no additional charge for extra nights in case heavy rain prevents you from leaving after your paid-for nights.
