| * It is a ten mile round-trip trek from Jacal to these shared areas. If you want to take advantage of these areas, please plan on spending most of the day on the outing. | |
Whether you stay at Wilderness Casita or Wilderness Jacal, you will enjoy pleasant moments under the grape arbor, reading a book perhaps, or contemplating the profusion of summer flowers in our enchanting garden. You may also wish to dine under the arbor. |
The swimming pond is located in the lower ranch area, near Wilderness Casita. Please bring a bathing suit, and if you prefer you may wish to wear "water shoes" in the pond. We will supply beach towels.
Slither The Loch Gallina Monster will be your swimming companion, and so will about 150 gold fish. The pond is about four feet deep in the center. |
The wisteria arbor is next to the pond, where you may sit at a table under the leafy shade to rest after swimming in the pond.
There are six chairs around the table, and an umbrella over the table if additional shelter from the sun is needed. There is also a cold-water outdoor shower. There is a small refrigerator- freezer nearby where you may keep your drinks cold and get ice cubes. A cedar rack holds drinking glasses. Evenings at the pond bring bats, mud swallows, and the call of frogs. |
| There are chickens, goats, cats, cows, dogs, and horses roaming freely in and around these shared areas. If you are staying at Wilderness Jacal with your dog and you wish to spend time in these shared areas, your dog must be on a leash at all times. | |
