| Casita is two miles from the Chama River, and offers you a comfortable and quiet place to return to after a day on the river. You may bring your kayak or river raft and take a leisurely "Self-Outfitted" trip down the river to the Big Eddy Take-out, which takes approximately three hours. According to the United States Parks Service's web page regarding Rio Chama, no fee or permit is required for "Self-Outfitted" river trips on the lower Chama River (there is a required fee on the upper Rio Chama). | |
